New Bern Civic Theatre proudly presents THE BRIGHT LIGHTS PROJECT!

Twelve young visionaries, ages 12–18, will embark on an extraordinary year-long journey: writing an original musical that will premiere as part of NBCT’s 2027 Season.

Every participant will share in the ownership and future of this groundbreaking work—one that could shine far beyond New Bern, across the country and the world.

Classes meet weekly on Wednesdays from 4:00–5:30 PM at New Bern Civic Theatre. Full schedule for the year will be available at the first class. Classes will be led by Executive Director Bradley Moore. River Durham will serve as the musical composer.

In just 40 sessions, students will collaborate, create, and bring their vision to life.• CLASS FEE: $25 per session, billed quarterly. First quarter ($250) due at sign-up to secure your spot.

Meek flower shop assistant Seymour (Rick Moranis) pines for co-worker Audrey (Ellen Greene). During a total eclipse, he discovers an unusual plant he names Audrey II, which feeds only on human flesh and blood. The growing plant attracts a great deal of business for the previously struggling store. After Seymour feeds Audrey's boyfriend, Orin (Steve Martin), to the plant after Orin's accidental death, he must come up with more bodies for the increasingly bloodthirsty plant. [PG 13]
